    Description

Craiglee Shiraz is produced from entirely Estate grown fruit and made on site by winemaker, Pat Carmody.

96 Points, Halliday Companion, Jane Faulkner - "If Pat Carmody can’t make great shiraz, then we should all shut up shop. He’s only been doing so at Craiglee for, oh, about 40-plus years. There's a DNA imprint to this, with a whorl of dark fruit, warm spices shot through, cedary oak and wafts of red roses. Very savoury though, fuller bodied with archetypal Craiglee tannins supple, shapely and ripe. Yes, a lovely wine made by a legend."

Originally established in the 1860s by one of Melbourne’s founding fathers, James Johnston, Craiglee Vineyard was absent from the Australian wine landscape until it was replanted in 1976 by an enthusiastic agricultural science graduate called Pat Carmody. Now one of Australia’s most highly regarded and awarded wineries, Craiglee is still run with the loving attention of Pat and Dianne Carmody with the occasional input of their sons.

    What The Critics Say
There are some wines that are special and unique because they not dictated to by fashion or shareholders and more importantly, they have a strong sense of place. That’s Craiglee. Expect a taste of dark plums, cedary oak, pepper and spice, licorice and gum leaf. The palate is full bodied, with ripe, silky tannins hugging all the way through to a resounding finish. Stamped with Craiglee DNA. Drink by: 2038.
