    What The Critics Say
Named for the cooperative’s founder, the 2015 Hermitage Gambert de Loche is a fine example of L’Ermite. Yes, the fruit is super ripe, resembling plums and blueberries, but there’s a crushed-stone coolness to this cuvée, and while the wine is full-bodied and muscular, it doesn’t lack grace. Drink: 2020-2035' (Dec17)

    ABOUT THIS BRAND

    Cave de Tain

Founded in 1933 Cave de Tain is located at the foot of the hill of Hermitage between Valencia and Lyon. The historic vineyard is a local co-op with over 300 grower-members and 1000 hectares of vineyards making it the main producer of wines in Northern Rhône Valley. On the left bank of the Rhône, between Lyon and Valence, the Hermitage hill dominates the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. From north to south, the vineyards of Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Péray spread out on terraces, on the right bank. On these five cru vineyards, as in Collines Rhodaniennes, the winegrowers of the Cave de Tain l'Hermitage offer an unrivalled variety of plantings in the vineyard, with access to all terroirs.
