Description
Clos Uroulat is a small estate in the Jurancon AOC in southwest France. Run by a father-daughter team, they practice biodynamic farming and minimal intervention in the cellar. While the region is known for producing fine and rare sweet wines, this is a complex dry white. It is a blend of two local grape varieties - Gros Manseng and Courbu. It is aged 10 months in oak, giving it a golden color. It has a deeper, expressive nose but is dry on the palate. Big, fleshy white peach and quince notes mingle with good acidity and minerality. It has a bright, tart, green apple tinge on the palate with a long finish - quite an intense wine! The grapes that make up this dry white wine are mostly Gros Manseng with some Courbu. The vineyards are netled into the Pyrénées mountains. Tasting as an aperitif when it is 2/5 years old. As an accompaniment to: cold meats, fish, shellfish, white meats, Asian or spicy dishes, cheeses, pancakes, galettes des rois, pudding.
