Only 100 cases made. 95 Points, Huon Hooke The Real Review, Feb 2023: Full yellow colour with a haze due to it being unfiltered. Toast, poached stone-fruits, spices, lemon curd and some botrytis traces—very detailed. Lovely depth of flavour, intense and creamy textured, filling the mouth and lasting long on the farewell. Properly dry and very appetising. Would make a good food wine. Barrel fermented, unfiltered.
This rich but dry ‘GV’ is reminiscent of the iconic ‘Smaragd’ (Emerald), the highest classification from the native Wachau in Austria. A haunting, vibrant elixir, intense, and pure with amazing complexity. Famous to match even the most challenging foods. Handpicked in several stages for a truly noble wine which will last the ages.
