    Description

A family affair to this very day, Moccagatta continues to focus on both the terroir of their homeland and the finesse that Barbaresco demands. The vineyards are all farmed organically and the wines, while being aged in a stunningly updated winery, speak of a place and of a people with a long history of tending this very land. If you haven’t been introduced to the wines of Moccagatta, now’s the time. And if you have, we welcome you to reacquaint yourself with these beautiful wines from Barbaresco. Note: 500 doz made. From a combined 0.9Ha plantings on grey/blue marlstone and sandy liestone, around Neive and Barbaresco. Fermentation and maceration of the skins takes place over 7 days. The wine then matures for one year in barriques (20% new, 80% second and third use). Blending and aging occurs exclusively in stainless steel before the wine ages in bottle for a minimum of 10 months prior to release.

    What The Critics Say
Medium brick-red colour, with a bouquet of polished wood, like a parquet floor or a wood-panelled wall in an old house. The palate is likewise dry and savoury, low on primary fruit, but possessing quite good depth of flavour. It's forward-developed and the tannins are very drying, but quite typical of nebbiolo from the Langhe. It needs food—protein transforms it. Drink: 2021–2027
