Moccagatta Barbaresco 'Cole' 2018
$156.00
Description
A family affair to this very day, Moccagatta continues to focus on both the terroir of their homeland and the finesse that Barbaresco demands. The vineyards are all farmed organically and the wines, while being aged in a stunningly updated winery, speak of a place and of a people with a long history of tending this very land. If you haven’t been introduced to the wines of Moccagatta, now’s the time. And if you have, we welcome you to reacquaint yourself with these beautiful wines from Barbaresco. Note: This wine is grown in the commune of Babaresco around the town, where calcareous blue marl soils dominate. The oldest vines were planted in 1972 and the youngest 2004. The grapes are macerated on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks, then the wine is aged in French oak barriques, of which approximately 40% are new, for 18 months, then the wine ages in bottle for a minimum of 10 months prior to release.
