OUTSTANDING TOP VALUE 90 Points by Allen Meadows: "Based on the nose, this could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its quinine, petrol, oyster shell, lemongrass and algae scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to merit mentioning. The rich, sleek and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors possess excellent intensity as well as an abundance of sappy dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine supporting the clean, dry and youthfully austere finale where a touch of rusticity eventually appears. This is an excellent Chablis villages and recommended." - Burghound.com, Oct 2024
Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates back to the 1590’s and is now managed by Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the serein river benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir. Made in a sparkling new wine cellar, the wines are fermented and aged in horizontal temperature controlled tanks (imagine a normal wine tank laying on it’s side) to maximise lees contact.
